This interactive presentation will consist of a moderated panel session with discussion by Workers’ Compensation (WC) experts including the Managing Nor Cal counsel for one of the largest underwriters of WC polices in the US, WC claim handling representatives from two companies, employment law counsel, and a human resource consultant; all of whom will provide insight into the various stages and steps undertaken once a worker sustains a work related injury, spanning from the time of injury through the return to work. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers from the panel, pertaining to all phases of the injured worker claim and propose chronological scenarios that could take place within the injured worker claim. Topics covered include: employer, employee, claim handler, physician, and attorney roles and responsibilities, medical care process, medical treatment utilization process, evaluations, ratings, employee benefits and leave options, just to name a few. By the end of the presentation, attendees will have information to help move through the injured worker processes as well as information and tools to minimize the risk of liability.
